Thinking Green…Hops Green

The town is spewing it’s wintery breath all over the place today…I want to give it a sunshine breath mint.

The colder and grayer it gets around here, the more I fall into day dreams of coat-less days (preferrably a little colder than shorts weather so I can wear my awesome beer socks) and hanging out on the roof with a nice cold craft brew in my hand.
I guess I am always thinking “Spring” though…it’s my favorite season, when everything is warming up and coming back to life. The smell of green is in the air…yes, green has a smell; you know it. I think of all the fresh hops being grown all over the world and how wonderful it would be to visit those places and soak in all the glory of that wonderous plant.

So Beautiful, She Is

So Beautiful, She Is

Maybe some day I will have a place where I can even grow my own! That would be lovely!
But all this thinking Green has made me want to look into the hop plant more. To learn more about all the different types grown and what/how they are used in the brewing process and more. I have started reading about the hop plant, or Humulus Lupulus.
It almost makes me want to write up a paper…like those dreaded school research papers…bleh. Maybe if I was allowed to write about interesting topics such as the hop plant, or history of beer, or something like that, I would have really enjoyed those writing classes.
And, I digress…perhaps I have a fever…but I think I am going to give myself a writing assignment (besides the assignment to write more blog posts…since I seem to have been slacking at that again). As long as I can keep myself from getting distracted…oooooh! Shiney!

I think I may need to get one of these
